Bihar pavilion bags gold medal at India International Trade
• The Bihar Pavilion was awarded a gold medal in ‘Best Pavilion’
category during the closing ceremony of the 40th India International
Trade Fair (IITF) held at Pragti Maidan in New Delhi on Saturday.
• Bihar pavilion winning 6th gold medal for its outstanding
implementation of ‘Aatmnirbhar Bihar’ campaign. It showcased the live
demo of prominent handicrafts like ‘madhubani’, ‘manjusha’ , ‘terrracota’
and ‘sikki’.
• The biggest feature of the pavilion were eco-friendly, handicraft
and handloom products including bhagalpuri silk saris, applique work,
jute handiceafts.
Bihar CM dedicates to Nation NTPC’s three power units at Barauni
and Barh
• Bihar CM Nitish Kumar dedicated to the nation the NTPC’s three
power generating units of total 1160 MW capacity at Barauni and Barh in
the presence of Union minister of power and renewable energy R k
Singh.
• The power generating units which were dedicated to the nation
are stage-II 500 MW of NTPC Barauni Thermal Power Station (BTPS) and
Unit no-1 (660 MW) of Barh Super Thermal Power Station (BSTPS)
Bihar legislative council now first House in country to go paperless
• Bihar legislative council acting chairperson Awadhesh Narain
Singh inaugurated National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA), making it the
first digital house in the country.
• The centre’s ambitious NeVA project is part of Digital India
programme aimed at working the functioning of Parliament as well as
well as state legislatures paperless. Bihar Vidhan Parishad is thr first
House in the country to move in this direction.
SDG urban index: Patna 52nd among 56 ULBs
• Patna was ranked the worst five performing cities in the NITI
Aayog’s first ‘Sustainable Development Goals Urban India Index and
Dashboard 2020-21′.
• The city has secured 52nd rank out of 56 cities in the index with the
overall score of 57.29. As per the SDG dashboard, Patna has been placed
in ‘performer’ category.
• As many as 56 urban local bodies have been assessed on 77 SDG
indicators related to economic growth, industry, infrastructure, health,
education, urban development, governance environmental and civic
issues.
ISRO signs MOU with NIT-P to set up academic Centre for
Space Research
• The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will set
up ‘Regional Academic Centre for Space’ at the National Institute of
Technology (NIT-P) to promote space research among students.
• The centre will pave way for advanced research in future
technology of the Indian space programme and act as a major facilitator
to space programme activities in the eastern India (including Bihar,
Jharkhand, Odisha, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Sikkim).
• NIT –Patna will be nodal centre for research and development
activities of the ISRO in the region.
Bihar last among 13 states in Swachh Survekshan ‘21
• Bihar continued its “poor” performance in terms of urban
sanitation in Swachh Survekshan 2021, the results of which were
announced by the ministry of housing and urban affairs.
• Bihar was at the bottom of the list of 13 states with more than 100
urban local bodies (ULBs), While Jharkhand was awarded for being at
the top of 14 states having less than 100 urban local
bodies (ULBs) under Swachh Survekshan 2021.
• The performance of Patna also continued to remain “poor” as it
was ranked 44 out of 48 cities with population of above 10 lakh.
Butterfly rearing centre developed at Bodh Gaya
• Gaya forest division has developed Jai Prakash Udyan in Bodh
Gaya as a butterfly rearing centre and promoting awareness
among the tourists and the tourists guides by providing services of
‘butterfly release’.
• Jai Prakash Udyan is adjacent to the world heritage Mahabodhi
Mahavihara. The centre will felicitate the breeding of prominent species
of butterfly.
IPF Survey on SMART Policing 2021: Bihar lowest
• A Delhi-based think tank, IPF (Indian Police Foundation) has
published a survey named ‘IPF Citizen Satisfaction Survey on SMART
Policing , 2021’ to identify the public perception of the police.
• As per the survey, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have the highest
‘SMART policing index’ scores of 8.11 and 8.1 respectively on scale of 1-10.
Uttar Pradesh and Bihar scored the lowest score of 5.81 and 5.74
respectively.
• The SMART policing idea was introduced in 2014 by the Prime
Minister Narendra Modi at the Conference of DGPs of State and Central
Police Organizations, to transform the Indian Police to be SMART.
